Vice President of Business Development

Our client, a leader in the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) and Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) software industry, is seeking a VP of Business Development to join their team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving revenue growth, acquiring new customers, and ensuring profitability by promoting their industry-leading CTRM software solutions.
As a Sales Specialist, you will:
• Generate Leads: Utilize phone, email, networking, and industry contacts to generate potential leads.
• Present and Promote: Effectively present, promote, and sell our CTRM software, backed by our team of analytical experts, to prospective customers using proven selling techniques.
• Customized Solutions: Analyze prospect needs and tailor service offerings, pricing approaches, and pitches to meet customer requirements.
• Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for your industry vertical.
• Goal Management: Manage monthly goals for activity, pipeline, forecasted opportunities, and revenue targets.
• Achieve Sales Targets: Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the designated time frame.
• Collaboration: Liaise with customers and team members throughout the sales process.
• Sales Strategy: Work with your vertical and technical teams to create call plans and organize sales strategies for key prospect meetings and demos.
• Market Analysis: Analyze your industry vertical, target market potential, track sales, and provide status reports through HubSpot CRM.
• Reporting: Provide accurate reporting on sales activity, forecasting, and market feedback to senior sales management and the executive team.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, market trends, and continuously improve through feedback.
• Competitive Analysis: Monitor the competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, and new services.
• Proposal Responses: Respond to RFI/RFP/RFQ as needed.
• Product Demonstrations: Assist in the delivery of product demonstrations and customer pitches.
• Professional Development: Stay informed about industry developments by attending workshops and participating in professional organizations.
MUST HAVE Requirements:
• Proven work experience as a sales professional, with specific experience in ETRM/CTRM sales*.
• Knowledge of the SaaS landscape.
• Familiarity with HubSpot and CRM best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Microsoft Teams, etc.
• BS/BA degree or equivalent.
