Logistics Manager

Our client, an international shipping and container logistics company, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to facilitate all activities and oversee all product and operations strategy. In this role, you will work closely with other Regional Managers and liaise with customer service/product managers to develop demand forecasts. Other responsibilities include:

• Execute activities to position identified surplus to deficit areas
• Effect positioning of factory and/or in fleet stock tailored to meet specific customer requirements
• Negotiate rates with transport vendors and shipping lines
• Manage and monitor vendor performance
• Track and trace container moves and communicate same to both internal and external customers as required
• Approve and process transport invoices
• Develop regional positioning budget and participate in the development of the global budget
• Consolidate and report regional and global positioning movements
• Perform ad hoc positioning analysis

To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the container logistics and shipping, or international shipping industry. Degree is also preferred. You must have a strong understanding of the industry to be able to communicate effectively with others and to be able to make analytical decisions confidently.
