Financial Controller

We are partnering with a well-established organization in the construction and mechanical services space to identify a Controller who will lead all accounting and financial operations. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to executive leadership, with oversight of a small, established team and full ownership of financial reporting, payroll, and compliance. This position offers strong leadership exposure and the opportunity to step into a role with immediate visibility and influence across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Manage payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance
• Lead banking relationships, cash management, and loan compliance
• Perform WIP analysis, job costing review, and support operational decision-making
• Supervise a team across AP, AR, payroll, and billing
• Coordinate audits and serve as the primary contact for external partners
• Support insurance, bonding, and financial reporting requirements
• Maintain internal controls and ensure accurate, timely financial data

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in accounting/finance leadership (Controller or similar level)
• Background in construction or a related industry strongly preferred (job costing, WIP, lien waivers)
• Hands-on, detail-oriented leader comfortable wearing multiple hats
• Strong understanding of payroll, financial reporting, and compliance
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
