Corporate Accountant
Location: Onsite | Central Houston Area

About the Role

A well-established and reputable family office is seeking a highly experienced Corporate Accountant to step into a broad, hands-on role within a small, stable team. This position is great for someone who thrives in a full-cycle accounting environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats. Reporting directly to the C-Suite, you’ll be deeply involved in a wide variety of accounting functions that are critical to the ongoing success of the organization. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule, and would be perfect for someone with family or looking to slow down in their career.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and record financial transactions in QuickBooks on a GAAP basis
  • Perform full-cycle accounting for corporate entities
  • Manage accounts payable, bill payments, invoicing, and payroll
  • Prepare financial statements and assist with board-level presentations
  • Lead budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Oversee annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Manage franchise and property tax filings, as well as 1099 reporting
  • Coordinate tax returns (federal and state) with external tax advisors
  • Maintain and organize accounting, insurance, and legal records
  • Support additional projects and take on ad hoc responsibilities as needed

 

Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience, Big 4 preferred
  • Prior experience in a professional services organization
  • Proven record of long-term tenure and job stability
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (QuickBooks a plus)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
